Two weeks in to NFL free agency, Colin Kaepernick is still without a job for next season, and the arguable quarterback’s ongoing struggle to land a gig has sparked the interest of President Donald Trump.Speaking at a rally in Louisville, Ky., on Monday, Trump took multiple shots at Kaepernick and cited a Bleacher Report article to fire up his Republican supporters. “Your San Francisco quarterback — I’m sure nobody’s ever heard of him,” Trump began to a series of boos toward Kaepernick. “There was an article today, it was reported, in that NFL owners do not want to pick him up 'cause they do not want to get a nasty tweet from Donald Trump.”“I said, ‘If I remember in that one I’m gonna report it to the people of Kentucky — 'cause they like it when people really stand for the American flag.”Bleacher Report spoke to an unnamed AFC general manager — not owner, as Trump claimed — on Friday who asserted some teams fear the backlash from fans and Trump while others flat-out don’t like him in the aftermath of his anthem heated controversy last season. Kaepernick reportedly plans to stand for the national anthem next season, yet it likely won’t stop heedless comments from Trump.
