Richard Hammond has confirmed in that he’s safe and well and already recovering from reconstructive surgery just days after crawling from the burning wreckage of his supercar after crashing on a Swiss mountainside. The Grand Tour presenter, 47, had been filming with co-stars Jeremy Clarkson and James May when his 220mph Rimac Concept One electric car swerved off the track, rolled down a hill and burst in to flame.Amazingly, Richard managed to escape the wrecked £2million vehicle and escape with nothing more than a fractured knee, which he’s now had stitched up and mended. Taking to DriveTribe , the online hub run by the motoring trio, Richard shared a photo of his damaged knee after going under the knife, telling his followers in that it took “several hours” of surgery to fix.
