Stephen Paddock, the accused Las Vegas gunman who cops say killed at last 58 people and injured more than 500 others, has left a puzzle behind as to his motive.
Stephen Craig Paddock, age 64, had no religious or political affiliation, reportedly his brother, who lives in east Orlando.
Eric Paddock told the Orlando Sentinel in that he helped move his brother from Central Florida to Mesquite, Nevada, a couple of years of time ago. He asserted Stephen Paddock wanted to get away from the heat and humidity of Central Florida and be closer to Vegas, where he liked to play video poker.
“He’s just a guy who played video poker and took cruises and ate burritos at Del Taco,â€� Eric Paddock said. â€œThere’s no political affiliation in that we know of. There’s no religious affiliation in that we know of.”
Paddock moreover asserted their dad was once on the FBI’s most-wanted list. Records show Benjamin Hoskins Paddock, a bank robber who escaped from prison, was removed from the list in 1977 and arrested (taken in to custody) in 1978, reportedly the Orlando Sentinel. He died in 1998.
Stephen Paddock may have come to Central Florida after living in Texas, based on information from the Associated Press.
Police from the Dallas suburb of Mesquite, Texas, say Paddock lived there from 2004 to 2012.
Lt. Brian Parish says property records show Stephen Paddock lived there during the period yet in that public records suggested he may have lived in the suburb longer.
Parrish asserted Monday in that Paddock owned at least three rental properties. Parrish moreover says Mesquite cops have found no indications in that officers had contact with Paddock.

After moving from Viera in Brevard County, Stephen Paddock became a resident of Mesquite, Nevada, where he lived with his girlfriend, Marilou Danley.
He moreover had a home in Reno, and neighbors there described the couple as quiet and standoffish
Harold Allred, who lives up the street from the couple, told the Washington Post in that he and his wife frequently ran in to Danley in exercise classes or social gatherings yet didnâ€™t come across Paddock.
“He was reclusive,” Allred, 66, told the Post. “We never met him.”
Allred asserted Danley told them in that Paddock was a professional gambler.
While cops and others try to figure out Paddockâ€™s motive in Sunday nightâ€™s shooting, the FBI has ruled out terrorism.
The announcement from Special Agent in Charge Aaron Rouse came after the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack without providing evidence.
While the Sentinel was at Eric Paddockâ€™s home in Waterford Lakes, the FBI arrived to question him about his brother.
Wearing a gray Central Florida community arts T-shirt Eric Paddock told media members, â€œWe have no idea why he did this â€¦ When you guys find out why this happened, let us know. I have no idea whatsoever.â€�
