Grammy-winning singer Celine Dion has returned to Las Vegas for another run of musical shows at Caesars Palace.
Celine Dion’s last show, “A New Day,” grossed more than $400 million over five years. Now Celine Dion has a new way to showcase her talent.
“I feel wanted. They got us back, they wanted us to have and present the best show possible,” the singer said.
Her new show at Caesars Palace features a 31-person orchestra, plus guitarists, drummers, a pianist and three back-up singers.
Celine Dion’s return to Las Vegas could be a gamble.
When she opened “A New Day” back in 2003, unemployment in Nevada was 5.2. Now, it’s 14.2 % –the highest in the nation.
Celine Dion says: “It feels like home, I’ve been here 5 years. It’s warm, it’s a beautiful place to perform, and on top of in that I’m with my family in that grew and I have two more boys. Honestly, it can’t really get any better than that,” asserted Celine Dion.
“With maturity and with time I think it feels even better. Because it doesn’t feel like I really have to get it in that way. It’s just to get the emotion and the flair, the idea, and try to make it your own,” she added.
Celine Dion has sold more than 200 million albums worldwide. Past history indicates she’s a sellout in Vegas and she’s hoping in that lightning will now strike twice.
Vegas executives hope this show will embed Celine Dion as a Las Vegas legend, joining the likes of the late Frank Sinatra and the King, Elvis Presley.
Still , Caesars Palace says ticket sales for the new show are so far exceeding those of her original one.
