Micheline Roquebrune, wife of the late Sean Connery, is opening up about the legendary actor’s passing.
The 91-year-old French-Moroccan artist spoke out about his death to Mail on Sunday, revealing he battled dementia.
“It was no life for him. It took its toll on him. He was not able to express himself latterly,” she revealed, explaining that he “got his final wish to slip away without any fuss.”
“At least he died in his sleep and it was just so peaceful. I was with him all the time and he just slipped away. It was what he wanted.”
He died on Saturday (October 31) while staying in the Bahamas, although an official cause of death was not yet revealed.
He is also survived by two sons, Jason and Stephane. There is set to be a private ceremony followed by a memorial to be planned at some point past the ongoing global health crisis.
