The 2020 Olympics concluded with an amazing closing ceremony in Tokyo, Japan this weekend.
As javelin thrower Kara Winger carried Team USA’s flag, the closing ceremony brought together the nations across the world once more as they finished up one last medal ceremony before a big celebration and the passing of the Olympic torch to France.

After being delayed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Tokyo games went out with a spectacle.
The ceremony featured both a fireworks and unique cultural performances.
The Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra performed as the IOC raised the French flag unto the flagpole, signifying he next Summer Games location in 2024.
There was also a performance of the Olympic anthem by Tomotaka Okamoto, a BMX stunt presentation and more cultural performances throughout the night.
The evening concluded with the extinguishing of the Olympic flame, which was preceded by a sweet performance of the Japanese song “Hoshi Meguri no Uta (A Stroll Among the Stars)” by a woman and several children.
Team USA edged out China in earning the most gold medals at the games. The country earned 39 golds, 41 silvers and 33 bronzes, for a total of 113 medals.
